Relationships

This week Joe sits down with Dr. Warner Boos. In addition to being the first pastor that Joe remembers, Dr. Boos has been Joe and Anita's counselor for the past eight months.

In the interview, among other things, they talk about how life before marriage impacts married life, how the challenge of marriage can be formative in a person's life, what it means to be a pastoral counselor, and why Dr. Boos approaches counseling the way he does.

If you'd like to find out more about Dr. Boos, or if you're looking for a counselor in the Denver area, you can contact him at Pastoral Counseling for Denver or you can find similar counselors at the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.

As they recorded this episode, Joe an Anita were winding down their 8th wedding anniversary. Given the occasion, they decided it only seemed appropriate to talk about marriage and, given their history together, why they think it's important to stick it out and try to make things work.

So, how does a couple staying together through the rough times serve the greater good? Is it just because it's good for the kids, or is there something more? As they explore, Joe and Anita share their story, talk with Dr. Warner Boos (their counselor), and introduce a tip Joe picked up from a good friend.

All that and more this week, on the Glocal Family Podcast.

A few days ago Joe was standing in the shower shaving when he realize how much water was being wasted in the process ... a moment that prompted him to wonder about other patterns in his life.

A few months back, Joe's good friend and mentor offered him a simple guide to marital health. This three part tip involved keeping a set time each day, each week, and each year for couples to connect and grow their relationship.
